Όλα ξεκίνησαν τέλη του 1995 όταν
τέσσερεις φίλοι αποφάσισαν να σχηματίσουν ένα μπλουζ συγκρότημα. Μετά από
αρκετούς πειραματισμούς και πρόβες το γκρουπ βρήκε το δρόμο του: Texas
blues/rock! Αποφάσισαν να παραμείνουν σε ένα κλασσικό, δοκιμασμένο σχήμα (2
κιθάρες-φωνή, μπάσο, τύμπανα), παρόλο που δε λένε όχι σε περιστασιακές
συνεργασίες και τη προσθήκη σαξοφώνου, πλήκτρων ή κάποιου guest τραγουδιστή.
Οι Texas Brothers έχουν δώσει αρκετές συναυλίες (εντός Αθηνών κυρίως) σε
διάφορα μπαρ, clubs, πάρτυ κλπ (ακόμη και σε δεξιώσεις όπως στην οικία του Αμερικανού
πρέσβη! και άλλα πολλά απίθανα μέρη...)Πολλοί γνώρισαν το συγκρότημα όταν
"άνοιξε" αρκετές συναυλίες των Blues Wire, της πιο δημοφιλούς και
αναγνωρισμένης ελληνικής μπλουζ μπάντας. Επιπλέον, έχουν μοιραστεί τη σκηνή με
τον Αμερικανό μπλουζίστα Michael Dotson(τέως κιθάριστα του γνωστού
συγκροτήματος Magic Slim and the Teardrops),με τον Τζώνυ Βαβούρα, τον Δημήτρη
Ιωάννου των Blues Cargo κ.α.
Οι Texas Brothers παίζουν δυναμικό Texas Blues, ρυθμικό boogie, χορευτικά swing-blues, rock ‘n' roll, rockabilly και παλιό
κλασσικό rock. Ανάμεσα στις επιρροές τους βρίσκονται οι: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi
Hendrix, Dr. Feelgood, B.B.King, Z.Z.Top, Stray Cats, Albert Collins, Albert
King, John Campbell, Elmore James, Buddy Guy, Freddie King ,T-Bone Walker,
Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Eddie
Cochran , George Thorogood ,Chris Duarte ,Otis Rush, Eric Clapton και πολλοί πολλοί άλλοι.Οι Texas Brothers
πάντα επιδιώκουν να ερμηνεύουν με συναίσθημα, εκφραστικά κιθαριστικά σόλο και φωνητικά, καταιγιστικούς ρυθμούς και αυθεντικό "vintage" ήχο...

It all started in late 1995, when a company of four guys decided to make
a blues band. It took a lot of experimenting and rehearsing for the band to
find its true path: Texas
blues/rock! They decided to stick to a basic 4-piece format (2 guitars and vocals,
bass, drums), though they occasionally enjoy playing with the addition of a
saxophone, keyboards or additional guest vocalist. Texas Brothers have played
many gigs (in Athens mostly) in various clubs,
pubs, parties etc (even at celebrations like one in the U.S. ambassadors house! and other unexpected
occasions...)
Many people were introduced to the band when they opened some of the shows of Greece's
top blues act, Blues Wire. They have also shared stage with American blues man
Michael Dotson (former guitarist in the well known blues band Magic Slim and
the Teardrops), Johnny Vavouras , Jim Ioannou from Blues Cargo and many others.
Texas Brothers play loud and proud Texas
blues, pacing boogies, danceable swingin' blues, rock n roll, rockabilly and
old classic rock music.
A few of their influences are : Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Dr. Feelgood,
B.B.King, Z.Z.Top, Stray Cats, Albert Collins, Albert King, John Campbell,
Elmore James, Buddy Guy, Freddie King ,T-Bone Walker, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters,
John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Eddie Cochran , George Thorogood
,Chris Duarte ,Otis Rush, Eric Clapton and many many more! Texas Brothers
always perform with a lot of feeling, expressive guitar solo's and vocals,
driving grooves and real old "vintage" sound!
Gear and sound
Texas Brothers have quite a lot of gear to select from, according to what style
of music they are going to play. They usually have a lot of stratocasters, some
real old ones and some custom-made, teles, les pauls and hollowbodies (like a
great Brian Setzer model Gretch guitar!). For amplification, they always use
old tube amplifiers like blackface Fenders (super reverb, twin reverb and
deluxe reverb) and old, classic and modified Marshals. For effects they always
used old stomp boxes or some new modified ones and even a few custom made! They
always try to have that Texas
"twangy" stratocaster sound, but not only that! Searing lead sounds with
razorblade highs, fat Gibson tones with thick mids and deep bottom-end and
fuzzy, crazy, psychedelic Hendrix reminiscent solos are all part of a Texas
Brothers performance!
